Tvůrčí tým Divadla Komedie
Dušan D. Pařízek (1971) se narodil v Brně, nicméně od útlého dětství vyrůstal v Rakousku, Švýcarsku, Nizozemí a posléze v Německu. Po absolvování divadelní vědy na Univerzitě Ludwiga Maximiliana
v Mnichově se v roce 1994 vrací zpět do Čech a studuje divadelní režii na DAMU. V této době působil také jako asistent režie: po stáži v Národním divadle (příprava inscenace hry Arthura Millera Smrt obchodního cestujícího, režie Jan Kačer) spolupracoval při realizaci inscenace Obři
z hor Luigi Pirandella v Divadle za branou II s režisérem Otomarem Krejčou. Ještě během studií na DAMU nastudoval v roce 1997 pro Divadlo Na zábradlí kultovní inscenaci hry Wernera Schwaba Prezidentky. K tomuto autorovi se vrátil ještě několikrát (Lidumor aneb Má játra beze smyslu, Antiklimax). Pařízek přiznává, že ke Schwabovi má „vřelý, hluboký, niterný a smutný vztah a stále ho poznává“. Když posléze v roce 1998 založil Pražské komorní divadlo se stálou scénou v Divadle Komedie, byla inscenace Prezidentek přenesena sem.
Divadlo Komedie se pod jeho vedením (1998–2002 umělecký šéf, od roku 2002 ředitel) soustředí na uvádění současné české, rakouské
a německé dramatiky. Již během prvních sezon se stalo jednou z nejprogresivnějších a nejexkluzivnějších českých scén a tento výlučný post si udržuje do současnosti. Především Pařízkovou zásluhou nabízí ojedinělý dramaturgický a inscenační profil.
V Divadle Komedie režíroval Pařízek řadu zásadních titulů, většinu
v jejich české premiéře: 1998: Baal (Brecht), 1999: Lidumor aneb Má játra beze smyslu (Schwab), 2001: Bandité (Schiller – Potwar – Dorn), 2002: Prezidentky (Schwab), 2003: Antiklimax (Schwab), 2004: Staří mistři (Bernhard), Kvartet (Miller), 2005: Předtím/Potom (Schimmelpfennig), Zmatky chovance Törlesse (Musil), Emigranti (Mrożek), 2006: Sportštyk (Jelineková), 2008: Nadváha, nedůležité: Neforemnost (Schwab), Snílci (Musil), Spiknutí (Hostovský), 2009: Goebbels /Baarová (Reese), 2010: Černé panny (Zaimoglu – Senkel), Spílání publiku 2010 (Handke).
Pařízek často režíruje také v zahraničí – např. v divadle Schauspiel
v Kolíně nad Rýnem – 2003: Platonov (Čechov), 2004: Hamlet (Shakespeare), 2005: Loupežníci (Schiller), 2006: Princ Bedřich Homburský (Kleist), Emilia Galotti (Lessing), na scéně Deutsches Schauspielhaus
v Hamburku – 2007: Heřmanova bitva (Kleist), 2008: Úklady a láska (Schiller), 2009: Dantonova smrt (Büchner), 2010: Götz z Berlichingenu se železnou rukou (Goethe) či v Schauspielhausu v Curychu – 2011: Katynka z Heilbronnu (Kleist).
V roce 2007 byla v rámci Divadelní Flory uvedena jeho oceňovaná inscenace hry Thomase Bernharda Světanápravce, o rok později pak výjimečná adaptace Kafkova románu Proces, která získala Cenu Alfréda Radoka jako Inscenace roku (obě nastudovány s Divadlem Komedie),
a v roce 2011 diváky upoutalo svérázné nastudování titulu Petera Handkeho Spílání publiku 2010.
David Jařab (1971) se narodil v Hranicích , ale do svých osmnácti let žil
v Ostravě. Vystudoval obor činoherní režie na Divadelní fakultě Janáčkovy akademie v Brně. Od roku 1993 působil v brněnské experimentální scéně HaDivadlo jako režisér, posléze autor a nakonec i jako umělecký šéf, současně byl v letech 1994–1998 asistentem v ateliéru režie
A. Goldflama na JAMU. V roce 1997 odešel do Prahy, kde se živil jako pedagog, autor scénářů, překladatel a televizní a divadelní režisér na volné noze. Od roku 2002 se jako režisér a kmenový autor stal vedle Dušana D. Pařízka určující osobností Pražského komorního divadla
v Divadle Komedie.
Je autorem více než deseti původních nebo adaptovaných divadelních textů (v sezóně 2009/2010 a 2010/2011 adaptoval např. Lulu Franka Wedekinda, Touhy a výčitky dle Snové novely Arthura Schnitzlera a Legendu o svatém pijanovi Josepha Rotha), více než třiceti komponovaných literárně-divadelních večerů a celovečerních inscenací. Věnuje se také výtvarné činnosti a scénografii. Prakticky všechny své texty realizuje sám jako režisér. Mezi jeho nejúspěšnější inscenace posledního období patří především scénická adaptace povídky Josepha Rotha Legenda
o svatém Pijanovi (2011), Johannese Urzidila Weissenstein (2009), románu Jaroslava Havlíčka Petrolejové lampy (2008) či Ladislava Klímy Utrpení knížete Sternenhocha (2007), první dvě inscenace původních divadelních her z pražského triptychu Vodičkova – Lazarská (2005)
a Žižkov (2006) nebo inscenace her Rainera Wernera Fassbinedera Hořké slzy Petry von Kantové (2005) a Elfriede Jelinekové Klára S. (2004). Kromě činoherní režie a dramatiky se věnuje také autorskému filmu. V roce 2004 měl premiéru jeho celovečerní snímek Vaterland – Lovecký deník a v listopadu 2010 další celovečerní film Hlava-ruce-srdce. David Jařab získal za film Vaterland – Lovecký deník Cenu literárního fondu pro nejlepší film roku 2004 a cenu filmové akademie Český lev
za výtvarný počin v českém filmu v roce 2004. Inscenace Vodičkova – Lazarská byla v roce 2008 vybrána na festival Neue Stücke aus Europa
ve Wiesbadenu.
Jařab je také členem surrealistických skupin A. I. V. a Skupiny českých a slovenských surrealistů – mj. se podílí na cyklu Večerů Analogonu.
Kamila Polívková (1975) se narodila v Brně. Po ukončení Střední průmyslové školy textilní v Brně – obor návrhářství a modelářství oděvů – studovala v letech 1998–2004 scénografii na Janáčkově akademii múzických umění. Od roku 1993 do roku 1996 pracovala pro brněnské výtvarné studio Veselý Design, 1996–98 působila jako kostýmní výtvarnice v Divadle v 7 a půl v Brně. Poté vytvořila kostýmní výpravy a scénografie k více než šedesáti inscenacím v divadlech jako jsou Husa na provázku Brno (F. M. Dostojevskij: Zločin a trest, Bratři Karamazovi;
A. Jarry: Nadsamec), Národní divadlo Brno (R. W. Fassbinder: Hořké slzy Petry von Kantové), Národní divadlo Praha (H. Müller: Hamlet-stroj), Městské divadlo Zlín (W. Shakespeare: Romeo a Julie; J. W. Goethe: Faust), Divadlo Petra Bezruče Ostrava (J. Irving: Trainspotting; B. Elton: Popcorn), HaDivadlo Brno (T. Bernhard: Minetti), Činoherní studio Ústí nad Labem (J. Penhall: Plavý kůň; A. P. Čechov: Tři sestry), Švandovo divadlo Praha (G. Büchner: Vojcek; W. Shakespeare: Sen noci svatojánské).
Od roku 2004 působí v Pražském komorním divadle v Praze jako kostýmní výtvarnice a scénografka. Podílela se na vzniku odbornou i laickou veřejností vysoce ceněných inscenací, které reprezentovaly české divadlo na mezinárodních festivalech a předních evropských scénách: např. D. Jařab: Vodičkova – Lazarská (2005), T. Bernhard: Světanápravce (2006), L. Klíma/D. Jařab: Utrpení knížete Sternenhocha (2007), F. Kafka/D. Pařízek: Proces (2007), W. Schwab: Nadváha, nedůležité: Neforemnost (2008), R. Musil: Snílci (2008) aj. Od roku 2007 pro Divadlo Komedie zpracovává také grafický design a fotografie. Od roku 2005 pracuje s režisérem Dušanem Davidem Pařízkem i v německy mluvících zemích. V roce 2008 prezentovala svoji tvorbu na výstavě Proměny – Divadelní výtvarnice na přelomu tisíciletí pořádané Českou organizací scénografů, divadelních architektů a techniků (ČOSDAT) ve spolupráci s Institutem umění Divadelního ústavu a Galerií kritiků v Praze. Po prvním inscenačním projektu Květy skořicovníku (podle textů čínské básnířky Li Čching-čao uvedeno ve spolupráci s Matějem T. Růžičkou
v Divadle v 7 a půl Brno) následuje na počátku divadelní sezóny 2009/2010 její režijní debut v Divadle Komedie, kterým je vlastní dramatizace románu Thomase Brussiga Hrdinové jako my. V současné době je na repertoáru i její inscenace hry Ödöna von Horvátha Víra, láska, naděje a od konce dubna 2012 monodrama Kathariny Schmitt Sam.
Kamila Polívková byla nominovaná na Cenu Alfréda Radoka v kategorii Talent roku 2010. V kategorii Scénografie roku 2009 získala také nominaci za výpravu k inscenaci Lvíče (Divadlo Komedie, premiéra
7. 2. 2009).

Creative Team of Divadlo Komedie theatre
Dušan D. Pařízek (b. 1971) was born in Brno but he spent his childhood in Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and then in Germany. After graduating from Theatre Studies at Ludwig Maxmilian University in Munich in 1994, he came back to the Czech Republic and studied drama direction at DAMU Academy. During his studies he worked as an assistant director: after his internship in National Theatre (prepared Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman directed by Jan Kačer) Pařízek met with director Otomar Krejča while working on a production The Mountain Giants at Divadlo za branou II. Still as a student he staged
a legendary production of Werner Schwab's play The Presidents at the Theatre Na zábradlí in 1997. He returned to this writer many times (People Annihilation, or My Liver is Senseless; Anticlimax). Pařízek admits that he has “warm, deep, sad and intense feelings for the writer and still gets to know him”. When he founded the Prague Chamber Theatre with the permanent scene at Divadlo Komedie in 1998, the production of The Presidents moved there.
Divadlo Komedie has under his direction (from 1998 to 2002 – an artistic director, since 2002 – a general director) focused on staging contemporary Czech, Austrian and German drama. Right from the first seasons, the theatre became one of the most progressive and most exclusive Czech theatre scenes and it has kept this exceptional position up to now. The theatre offers a unique dramaturgical and dramatic profile mainly thanks to Pařízek.
Pařízek directed many essential productions at Divadlo Komedie, mostly in Czech premiere – 1998: Baal (Brecht), 1999: People Annihilation, or My Liver is Senseless (Schwab), 2001: The Robbers (Schiller – Potwar – Dorn), 2002: The Presidents (Schwab), 2003: Anticlimax (Schwab), 2004: Old Masters (Bernhard), Quartet (Miller), 2005: Before/After (Schimmelpfennig), The Confusions of Young Törless (Musil), The Emigrants (Mrożek), 2006: A Sport Play (Jelineková), 2008: Overweight, Unimportant: Misshape (Schwab), The Dreamers (Musil), The Conspiracy (Hostovský), 2009: Goebbels/Baarová (Reese), 2010: Black Virgins (Zaimoglu – Senkel), Offending the Audience 2010 (Handke).
Pařízek often directs abroad as well – for example at Schauspiel theatre in Cologne – 2003: Platonov (Chekhov), 2004: Hamlet (Shakespeare), 2005: The Robbers (Schiller), 2006: The Prince of Homburg (Kleist), Emilia Galotti (Lessing), at Deutsches Schauspielhaus theatre in Hamburg – 2007: Herrmann's Battle (Kleist), 2008: Love and Intrigue (Schiller), 2009: Danton's Death (Büchner), 2010: Goetz von Berlichingen with the Iron Hand (Goethe) or at Schauspielhaus theatre in Zurich – 2011: Käthchen of Heilbronn (Kleist).
In 2007, the Flora Theatre Festival hosted his highly acclaimed production of Thomas Bernhard's play The World-Fixer and a year later his exceptional adaptation of Kafka's Trial that won the Production of the Year at Alfréd Radok Awards (both at Divadlo Komedie). In 2011 the festival audience was mesmerized by the daring production of Peter Handke's Offending the Audience 2010.
David Jařab (b. 1971) was born in Hranice but grew up in Ostrava. He studied drama direction at the Department of Theatre at JAMU Academy in Brno. From 1993 he worked at the studio theatre at HaDivadlo as
a director, later a writer and finally even as an artistic director. He was also an assisting lecturer of direction of A. Goldflam's studio from 1994 to 1998. In 1997 he left for Prague where he worked as a lecturer, scriptwriter, translator and freelance director for theatre and TV. Since 2002 he has become the key personality of Divadlo Komedie (together with Dušan D. Pařízek) as a permanent director and writer of the Prague Chamber Theatre.
He has written more than 10 original plays or adaptations (in the season of 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 he adapted e.g. Lula by Frank Wedekind, Desires and Regrets based on Dream Story by Arthur Schnitzler and The Legend of the Holy Drinker by Joseph Roth), more than 30 theatre and literature evening shows and full-length productions. He engages in art production and stage design as well. Practically all his texts are directed by him. Among his most successful productions of recent years, we could name mainly the stage adaptations of short stories by Joseph Roth The Legend of the Holy Drinker (2011), Johannes Urzidil Weissenstein (2009), a novel by Jaroslav Havlíček Kerosene Lamps (2008) or Ladislav Klíma's The Suffering of Prince Sternenhoch (2007), first two productions of
a triptych of original plays Vodičkova – Lazarská (2005) and Žižkov (2006) or the production of The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant by Rainer Werner Fassbineder (2005) and Elfriede Jelinek's Clara S. (2004). Apart from the drama direction and playwriting, he also occupies himself with film. In 2004 his feature film Vaterland – A Hunting Diary was premiered and in November 2010 another feature film Head-Hands-Heart. The film Vaterland – A Hunting Diary was awarded the prize of Czech Literary Fund for the best film of 2004 and the Czech Lion Award for the Best Art Design in 2004. The production Vodičkova – Lazarská was selected for the New Plays from Europe festival in Wiesbaden in 2008.
Jařab is also member of the Surrealist Groups A. I. V. and Czech and Slovak Surrealist Group – he participates on the cycle of Evenings of Analogon (surrealist periodical).
Kamila Polívková (b. 1975) was born in Brno. After graduation from secondary school of textile technology in the field of fashion design, she studied between 1998–2004 stage design at JAMU Academy. From 1993 to 1996 she worked for a Brno-based art studio Veselý Design, between 1996–1998 she worked as a costume designer in the theatre Divadlo v 7 a půl in Brno. After that she created stage and costume designs for more than sixty productions for theatres like Goose on a String Theatre in Brno

Since 2004 she has worked at the Prague Chamber Theatre as

Since 2007 she has also worked on the graphic design and photography for the Divadlo Komedie theatre. She also started working in Germanspeaking countries with director Dušan David Pařízek in 2005. In 2008 she presented her work on exhibition Metamorphosis – Stage Designers at the Turn of Millennium organized by the Czech Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (ČOSDAT) in cooperation with the Arts and Theatre Institute and The Gallery of Art Critics in Prague. After her first stage project Cinnamon Flower (based on poetry of Chinese poet Li Ching Chao produced in cooperation with Matěj T. Růžička at Divadlo
v 7 a půl theatre in Brno) she produced, at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season, her debut direction at Divadlo Komedie theatre – her own dramatization of the novel by Thomas Brussig Heroes Like Us. At present, another two productions directed by Polívková are on the theatre's repertoire – Faith, Hope, and Charity by Ödön von Horváth and from the end of April 2012 a monodrama Sam by Katharina Schmitt.
Kamila Polívková was nominated for the Alfréd Radok Award for the Talent of the Year in 2010. In 2009 she was also nominated for the category of Stage Design for a production of Lion Cub (Divadlo Komedie theatre, premiered 7 February 2009).
