Studio Hrdinů vzniklo v Praze v roce 2011 jako otevřená divadelní scéna s jasným dramaturgickým záměrem a snahou vést mezioborový umělecký dialog. Ve své hlavní dramaturgické linii se zaměřuje na autorské, režisérské projekty s důrazem na spolupráci zahraničních a domácích divadelních tvůrců a na žánrové a oborové přesahy. Cílem je náročná, ale vstřícná umělecká dramaturgie, formálně jde o činohru s akcentem na experiment a výtvarnou stránku. Hlavní produkce se od podzimu 2012 odehrávají ve Studiu Hrdinů ve Veletržním paláci Národní galerie v Praze. Kromě kmenových režisérů Kamily Polívkové (2012: SAM, 2013: Den opričníka, 2013: Mileniny recepty, 2014: Říše zvířat, 2016: Skugga Baldur), Kathariny Schmitt (2012: England, 2013: Černá zrcadla, 2014: Krev Wälsungů, 2015: O slavnosti a hostech) a režisérské dvojice Jan Horák a Michal Pěchouček (2012: Církev, 2013: Citový komediant, 2015: Marbot) divadlo také spolupracuje např. s někdejšími tvůrci Pražského komorního divadla Dušanem D. Pařízkem (2015: Kauza Schwejk) a Davidem Jařabem (2016: Bílí psi a černý kočky), ale i Janem Nebeským (2013: Pomocník Walser, 2014: Mlčky křičet), Miroslavem Bambuškem (2014: Pustina), Veronikou Riedlbauchovou (2014: DNArt) či Kaiem Ohremem (2014: Sněhurka). Úspěch inscenací vychází také z kvalitního hereckého obsazení (Ivana Uhlířová, Gabriela Míčová, Karel Roden, Karel Dobrý, Jiří Černý, Stanislav Majer, Marie Švestková, Petr Šmíd a další). V rámci Cen divadelní kritiky 2015 bylo Studio Hrdinů nominováno na Divadlo roku.
Studio Hrdinů was created in 2011 as an open theatre stage with clear dramaturgical aim and an effort to start a proper interdisciplinary dialogue. The main dramaturgic line focuses on original directions mainly in Czech or with foreign cooperation and on genre and field interference. The aim is a demanding yet forthcoming dramaturgy, but formally it can be perceived as drama with emphasis on the experimental and visual aspects of the production. Since autumn 2012 the main productions have been staged at Studio Hrdinů in Veletržní palác at the National Gallery in Prague. Besides the permanent director Kamila Polívková (2012: SAM, 2013: The Day of the Oprichnik, 2013: The Milena's Recipes, 2014: The Animal Kingdom, 2016: Skugga Baldur), Katharina Schmitt (2012: England, 2013: Black Mirrors, 2014: The Blood of the Wälsungs, 2015: A Report on the Party and the Guests) and duo of directors Jan Horák and Michal Pěchouček (2012: The Church, 2013: The Emotional Poseur, 2015: Marbot) the theatre also cooperates with the former creative team of Prague Chamber Theatre Dušan D. Pařízek (2015: The Case Schwejk) and David Jařab (2016: White Dogs and Black Cats) but also Jan Nebeský (2013: Walser, the Assistant, 2014: The Silent Scream), Miroslav Bambušek (2014: The Wasteland), Veronika Riedlbauchová (2014: DNArt). and Kai Ohrem (2014: The Snow White). The success of the productions is based also on the amazing performances of the cast (Ivana Uhlířová, Gabriela Míčová, Karel Roden, Karel Dobrý, Jiří Černý, Stanislav Majer, Marie Švestková, Petr Šmíd, and others). At the Theatre Critic's Awards in 2015, Studio Hrdinů was nominated for the Theatre of the Year.
