The cult novel by Boris Vian set in Paris is a popular repertoire piece. The world of carefree fantasy and surrealist ideas clashes with the disturbed destinies of two pairs of lovers and is a great challenge for any creative team. Guest director Hana Mikolášková adapted the play as a playful clownery full of situational jokes and acrobatics which the life tragedy starts slowly growing through, just like the greedy water lily starts growing through the lungs of the main protagonist.

Hana Mikolášková (1980), graduated from Theatre Studies at the Faculty of Arts and MU (2000) and from directing at JAMU academy (2005). She focuses mainly on work for adults and children. She has cooperated with Czech Radio for a really long time. After a five-year-long period she finished in the position of artistic director of Městské divadlo Zlín, where she created many outstanding productions such as The Labyrinth of the World and the Paradise of the Heart (2013) and INRI (2016) based on her own dramatization, and the successful production Malované na skle (2015). At Divadlo Tramtarie she produced Bohyně z města hříchu (2013) and Psycho (2014), and at the Moravian Theatre Olomouc she staged Goldflam's Ženy a panenky already in 2010.

Divadlo Tramtarie was established in 2004 as an alternative to the Moravian Theatre Olomouc similarly as Drábek's Burning Giraffe (1994–2003). Since 2006 with a slightly altered ensemble, they have been situated in their own space in Slovanský dům. They are oriented towards younger audience. Their repertoire comprises mainly of adaptation of well-know pieces – literary or film ones – contemporary drama and original fairy tales. These are often directed by Vladislav Kracík as well as regular guest directors Jiří Trnka, Hana Mikolášková or Konrád Popel.
