nor morality nor “civic education” are subject to standard rules...

In coproduction of the FLORA THEATRE FESTIVAL, the SKUTR duo and Prague’s
La Fabrika theatre, performed by the dancer and choreographer Adéla Stodolová
and the directorial tandem Martin Kukučka & Lukáš Trpišovský, this performance
will hit the road soon after and represent Czech culture at Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

The classic representative of the world's downtempo scene
and master of unique sound pallets tainted with the melancholy of Viennese cafés
in symbiosis with a visual performance by young graphic artists.

Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium, France 2003 / dir. L. von Trier
“A truth game” tainted with stylized authenticity hailing
from the Dogme 95 manifest come together in a documentary project
by top Danish filmmakers.

Final part of the allegoric trilogy by the Korean choreographer
known for her Buddhist-like fragility. The first two parts
(Objects and Grains and Angels and Demons) were presented
at the Flora Theatre Festival in 2007 and 2008.

Japan 1954 / dir. A. Kurosawa
A visually and rhythmically stirring Japanese legend
of men lacking fear and shame, privacy and home.

This stage adaptation of the 1993 novel by probably the most famous
contemporary fantasy writer loosely follows up on the audience hit
production of the Moravian Theatre, Maskerade. Directed by Michal Zetel

The most recent opus by a top-ranking Swedish dance group choreographed by
a prominent festival guest, the dancer Charlotta Öfverholm, who will be heading
for Buenos Aires and Montevideo right after this exclusive premiere of the company’s
most recent production in Olomouc!

A lyrical fantasy adaptation of the classic short story
by the Czech writer Božena Němcová starring the mesmeric Vlasta Fialová.

by one of the most original interpreters of the world classic drama,
the Czech director Jan Mikulášek. A drama of vengeance, boldness, fear of death and of one’s own
conscience: a landmark experience without a warranty of guaranteed answers...

Jane Austen's “marriage of romance and irony”
in plain treatment of a story of “happiness despite circumstances”.

A notorious love story in a playful variation by the unmistakable company
from Hradec Králové transferred from the Renaissance palaces of Verona to a modest stage
built in the centre of a circus tent. The round-off of three Shakespearean paraphrases
performed over three nights at this year’s festival!

USA 1973 / dir. S. Peckinpah
A story of the dawning Wild West, broken friendship,
primary values and the rise of the new America...

A vivid variety show including the works by the incoming generation
of young choreographers. A search for new ways of expression in dance theatre sees
the original stage methods of modern nonverbal playwriting pervade the specific “odour”
of various cultural identities.

The first Czech performance of two one-act plays by the renowned
French comedy playwright. Even after a century since the play’s origination,
the theme of the pitiless “war of the sexes” still remains a stinging topic to cope with.
Performed by a play-well-together Prague theatre company and served in
a meticulous directing sauce by Hana Burešová.

Poland 1958 / dir. A. Wajda
The paramount work of European film. Existential story of a youngster
taking place during a highly controversial period at the close of WW2.

This theatre slot machine gives spectators a chance to change the fate of a young girl
who decides to fulfil her big dream in the capital city... The most recent performance
by the Czech “classics” of theatre improvisation!

Great Britain 2006 / dir. M. Winterbottom
A film on film, absurd pun and documentary recording all in one:
a bold adaptation of irreproducible impressions and experiences
gathered by the visionary Laurence Sterne.

A meditative introspection by a unique Hungarian experimental artist braced
with the theme of inability to communicate and open oneself to another human being.

The rough Northern European climate meets – in this directorial vision by Jan Mikulášek –
the no less severe Northern Moravia whilst out of the bog of trickery,
stale air is rising up. A tragedy featuring skeletons in the wardrobe
and ducks in the attic at the forefront of the action.
