Visegrad Performing Arts
Dear spectators,
The programme section focusing on the most prominent personalities of the theatre and dance scene of the Visegrad region has become a stable part of the programme of the Flora Theatre Festival. Also the 19th Flora will offer various first-rate productions in actually the biggest number so far.
You can be looking forward to pure contemporary dance in a riveting choreography of Milan Tomášik called Hunting Season. This emotional and physical production by the graduate of elite Belgian dance school P.A.R.T.S. was created in cooperation with Slovenian dancers and original music of Vladimír Godár. Similar approach to dance can be seen in the dance formation 420PEOPLE which will perform a stage essay Inferno. The project was created in coproduction of director Jan Nebeský with allied actors Lucie Trmíková and David Prachař.
The combination of contemporary dance and audiovisual art can be seen in the production of Polish choreographer Magdalena Reiter who prepared a production with the dancers of Slovenian Anton Podbevšek Teater. If you are curious to see the course which the contemporary theatre takes while including communities, you should definitely go see production Space Odyssey which is a unique combination of children orchestra and Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra or the unique street game called Thousand and One Olomouc prepared by the Na Cucky Theatre with close cooperation of the Hungarian theatre KOMA Bázis. The project will have a world premiere at the festival!
A whole section will be dedicated to Spitfire Company from the Czech Republic. This ensemble has seen a great progress in recent years and started to appear in programmes of various renowned world festivals. This year’s Flora will host their newest production Sniper’s Lake created in coproduction with Norwegian dancers, a visually interesting production Animal Exitus in a unique open-air premiere and also a laid-back purely feminine production Prawns á la Indigo which will be adapted for our circus tent.
The programme has never been so rich regarding the contemporary Visegrad Region art. Do not hesitate and go see all of the productions!
