Peter Mankovecký Theatre Bratislava

Peter Mankovecký Theatre (PMT) is Slovak independent theatre, founded in 2015 in Bratislava by the graduating acting class at the Academy of Performing Arts. It is named after the head teacher of the class – actor, director and composer Peter Mankovecký, who died in 2013.
“It is a legacy of the pedagogue who was with us until our third year and then left us. The name came about naturally. We figured we were a class of a man whose legacy we wanted to carry on,” says Simon Ferstl, the theatre’s principal.
PMT’s programme presents generational, mainly existential topics. The productions reflect the inner state of a person struggling with complicated interpersonal relationships and searching for their place in an equally complicated society.
