The independent theatre collective Post Paradies was formed in 2024 by ex-members of the Theaterhaus Jena ensemble. The group consists of personalities involved in dramaturgy, acting and directing – Hannah Baumann, Pina Bergemann, Henrike Commichau, Leon Pfannenmüller and Lizzy Timmers. The five-member team divides production duties organically and fluidly as needed. They find inspiration for their mostly authorial productions in their surroundings and current social affairs. They always approach their topics with an almost anthropological eye. Their productions do not have a uniform style and emerge from a process of collaborative rehearsal and experimentation. They collaborate with various artists from both Germany and abroad.
We also use the brand Post Paradies for older titles to more easily convey our artistic identity. Although it was formed at the Theaterhaus Jena, which was our home for many years, the theatre is now in the hands of new management and no longer represents us. – Leon Pfannenmüller (member of the collective)
Post Paradies aim to create theatre that is both accessible and complex, that addresses the audience without offering easy answers. Their work is imbued with the desire to transform established principles and to find new ways of talking to the audience about today’s world.
