Lena Brasch

Lena Brasch (1993) is a German author and director. Between 2009 and 2019 she worked as an assistant director and dramaturge at various Berlin theatres, including Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Deutsches Theater, and Berliner Ensemble. She then worked as a literary agent, contributed to Das Wetter – Magazin für Text und Musik, and published several essays and short stories in various anthologies. She conceived her directorial debut It’s Britney, Bitch! as a monologue by Britney Spears. Since its premiere at the Berliner Ensemble in 2022, the title has been one of Berlin’s biggest theatre hits. By the time the 28th Flora takes place, it will have had its 100th reprise.
In February 2025, MGT premiered her new production, Das Alte geht nicht und das Neue auch nicht (The Old Doesn't Work and the New Doesn't Either), which is based on texts by her multi-talented uncle – the prominent East German poet and writer Thomas Brasch (1945–2001).
