Bühnen Bern

Bühnen Bern, a four-ensemble theatre in Bern, Switzerland, brings together opera, theatre, ballet, and a symphony orchestra under one roof. It is the largest theatre in the Bern-Mittelland region with an international significance. It employs artists from twenty-five countries. It was founded in 2011 through the merger of the Bern Symphony Orchestra and the Bern City Theatre under the name Konzert Theater Bern. In 2021, it was renamed Bühnen Bern. Each season, the theatre presents over 30 premieres and 20 major concerts, staging a total of 400 performances. Florian Scholz has been the artistic director of Bühnen Bern since 2019. Starting with the 2021/22 season, the theatre company has been under the artistic direction of director Roger Vontobel and chief dramaturg Felicitas Zürcher.
