26th Flora is over, see you next year!
NEWS
The Flora Theatre Festival culminated yeasterday in Olomouc with the premiere festival hosting of Thalia Theater Hamburg. The international multi-genre programme took place on ten stages, where six and a half thousand visitors arrived during the twelve days. Due to the extraordinary audience interest, the capacity had to be increased for several sold-out performances.

The show kicked off at the Moravian Theatre on 11 May with an adaptation of Andruchovich's Moskoviad by Prague's Divadlo X10 and director Dušan D. Pařízek. The festival epilogue, again on the festival's biggest stage, was provided almost two weeks later by the ensemble of Thalia Theater Hamburg. The ensemble came to Olomouc for the first time and ended the 26th Flora with a performance with the Chekhovian title Glorious People. The production of Sasha Marianna Salzmann's award-winning novel, directed by Hakan Savaş Mican, premiered in Hamburg last autumn, its ethos resonating distinctively with the year's theme of Otherness.
The thematically defined dramaturgy offered over sixty events – drama, opera and dance productions, performances, installations as well as two theatre premieres. The 26 Flora also included concerts, talks, workshops and seminars and lecturing activities for the student educational platform FloraLab.
Dear audience, dear viewers, thank you once again for your support and we look forward to seeing you next year!
