26th Flora in 100 days!

The 26th Flora Theatre Festival will take place from 11 to 22 May and will present sixty events from Czech and foreign provenance. This year's motto, which will resonate both in the topics of the productions and in their stage form, is:

The festival will also focus on the work of prominent female personalities – authors, performers, theatre-makers…

The 26th programme will feature productions that accentuate difference, the diversity of human existence and its borderline forms. The festival wants to open a discussion on the prejudiced perception of social phenomena and art forms. Therefore, artists who do not perceive otherness as an inappropriate deviation from the majority accepted norms or even a handicap, will have their say. On the contrary, they unmask or ignore theatrical conventions and clichés and freely transcend the „staging boundaries“ towards authentic otherness.

One of the greatest personalities of contemporary European theatre – Austrian Doris Uhlich – fulfils this characteristic properly, just like other festival guests, the Swiss-based Austrian performer Teresa Vittucci and the German director Susanne Kennedy“For three days we will be presenting a very specific performance by Susanne Kennedy in special cubicles, intended for a single audience – the title I AM (VR). We have been watching and admiring her radical work, which permanently pushes the boundaries of contemporary theatre, for a long time, and this year we will present it for the first time in Olomouc," says festival director Petr Nerušil.

The performance of Simone Dede Ayivi, an original guest of the German independent theatre scene, will be an extraordinary experience as well as the latest performances of Hungarian choreographers Adrienn Hód and Boglárka Börcsök and other titles from the rich 26th programme, which will be introduced in the coming weeks. Ticket sales will start in April.

Dear festival visitors, we look forward to seeing you in Olomouc in exactly 100 days!
