Jazmína Piktorová & Sabina Bočková MICROWORLDS

This playful, poetic performance, intended for the youngest audience, draws attention to small, at first sight invisible things and phenomena. Through subtle movements, “body landscapes” and play with small objects, it stimulates the imagination and invites interaction.
For children aged 4 and over.

    Ticket price: 150 Kč

The show will take place on Sunday 19 May at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

An exceptionally impressive movement-object production focusing our attention on small details that are often not visible at first sight.

Playfulness sparkled from the dancers’ eyes. (…) They brought (not only) children a great sensory experience, a safe and dreamy world in which they can feel free, creative and proud. (…) A performance for all who are not afraid to play.
    Lucie Štádlerová, Taneční aktuality

The performers’ interactive approach breathes imagination and opens up a whole new universe for children, families and everyone else in the audience.

The playful and poetic production Microworlds is aimed mainly at the youngest audience, but its artistic qualities engulf everyone present into the action and literally draw them into a common interaction at the end.
Jazmína Piktorová and Sabina Bočková, under the auspices of the artist collective ZDRUHESTRANY, have created a production highly appreciated by both the audience and the professional public, which explores the fragility of our existence through micro-movements, body landscapes and play with small objects. It stimulates our imagination and allows us – especially our adult minds – to move away from everyday routines. Through subtle phenomena and objects, we can rediscover all the charming little things of this big world, as seen from a child’s perspective.
In 2023, Microworlds marked a huge success at the Czech Dance Platform, where it won both the Main Award of the International Jury and the Audience Award. In the autumn of the same year, the production was included in the Twenty24 selection by the renowned international platform Aerowaves. In addition, Jazmína Piktorová was nominated for the Thalia Award 2023 in the Puppet Theatre category for her concept and performance in Microworlds.

Jazmína Piktorová is a choreographer, performer and lecturer. She studied Physical Theatre at the Studio of Author’s and Experimental Theatre and Acting at the JAMU in Brno. She creates her own works as part of the ZDRUHESTRANY collective, which she co-founded together with Viktor Černický and Tomáš Janypka. In her work, she combines physical theatre with dance, acting and lyrical clowning. She is interested in the intersection of dance and movement education with work for children, emphasizing long-term and in-depth research.

Sabina Bočková is a choreographer and dancer who decided to work as an independent artist after her studies in classical ballet, modern dance and a three-year engagement in ballet companies. Fascinated by the simple, almost everyday language of the body, she transforms movement through choreographic structures while commenting on themes that resonate with social and cultural issues. Together with Johana Pocková, she forms the POCKETART collective, whose works are part of the European platform Aerowaves, the Czech Dance Platform, and the projects Shape It! and Big Pulse Dance Alliance. The Flora Theatre Festival has been consistently following the work of POCKETART and has included their productions (Lion’s Den, Treatment of Remembering, To the Madonna with Rust) in the festival programme of the last four years.
